While there’s still a long road ahead in the battle against the coronavirus, vaccines are beginning to be rolled out and travel is slowly returning to certain destinations.
As international travel restrictions hopefully begin to be eased this year, it’s time to think about how travel has been impacted and what you need to know when booking your first trip post-pandemic.
You’d be forgiven if you’ve forgotten what it was like to travel, as many of us have had our passports tucked away in a drawer for quite some time now. But as the travel industry begins to recover there are many things you need to be aware of before you start planning and booking your first holiday.
Travel planning can be somewhat stressful at the best of times but when you add a pandemic into the mix things can get a bit more complicated.
To help answer some of the top questions travelers are currently asking and prepare you for your first post-COVID vacation, here are some of the tops tips and important advice you need to be aware of.

From my seat here in Australia, Black Friday sales have not typically mattered to me.
As my friend Vanessa Chaisson wrote: “I reject the manipulation of capitalism and societal pressure which leads to environmental destruction, communities ravaged by debt, and non-ironic acid washed jeans.
I am a minimalist committed to supporting local businesses and the betterment of my community. I have been blessed with abundance this year and I need nothing more.”
But when I heard about Hotels.com offering 50% off hotels for Black Friday this was also me:
“Holy s&%t. Black Friday sales also apply to TRAVEL?????!!!”

It’s a scientific fact that men who travel are far sexier than men who stay at home. (OK, so that’s probably not scientific, but if any-one is willing to provide the funding I would be happy to launch a research project).
Because it’s unlikely you’ll find yourself bored dating a boy who travels. He treasures experiences over toys, and talks of distant places. His hands have explored the stone relics of ancient civilizations, and he has lived out of a backpack because he lives happily with less. He is enthusiastic about the world, and passes on that enthusiasm to you.
Did you miss last year’s 100 page magazine? Featuring over 150 travelers, with full page photos and great travel features, you can now download ‘The Sexiest Travelers of 2017’ for free!!

Adventure has been the new pretty for a while now, and women who travel are continually redefining the traditional notion of “sexy” through their passion for exploring the world and adventurous soul.
These women are smart, independent and strong. They navigate unknown cities with a great sense of direction, but also enjoy the spontaneity of getting lost. They’re not searching for money, status or looks, they’re searching for knowledge and world experiences.
These women may not be the most dolled up, but they’re certainly the most authentic. Self sufficient women who challenge, encourage and inspire you to see, do and be more.
Though it’s not even that the following women have all of the above mentioned qualities which ultimately makes them sexy. It’s that they have gone against the “norm” to create a lifestyle that they love. It’s that they’re genuinely happy in life. And happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and reflect that happiness back on you.

Last year we thought it would be a fun way to recognize the adventurous spirit and inspiring lifestyles of 21 deserving male travelers by awarding the title of “Sexiest Travelers of 2014”. And the post quickly became a viral hit, crashing our site 4 times in the first day; proving that adventure has been the new sexy for a while now!
With these qualities in mind, the following are the sexiest male travelers of 2015. If we’ve missed your favorite traveler, they could very well have been featured in last year’s list. Otherwise leave us a comment with your nomination for next year!

Almost instantly after publishing our 2014 list of Sexiest Male Travelers Alive, we were bombarded with messages and emails from male travelers wanting to nominate their favorite females for the same title.
We all know you should date a girl who travels; “she spends her weekends jetting around Europe, her holidays trekking through Uganda in search of gorillas, volunteering in a school in Ghana or lying on a beach in Sri Lanka. She spends her evenings reading travel books, watching travel movies or following travel bloggers on Twitter. She might appear to be independent and solitarily happy but, in reality, she would really like that perfect companion to be able to enjoy all of these things with.”

Last week, People Magazine, announced it’s list for Sexiest Man Alive 2014, a title which went to the incredibly hunky Australian movie star Chris Hemsworth. And while People Magazine had a fantastic range of contenders for their list, sadly, none of them were travelers or explorers. A travesty in my humble opinion, as there are some pretty hunky men out there with an incredible passion for travel and worldwide exploration, and we all know you should date a boy who travels.
This past weekend, female travelers have nominated (in secret) their picks for Sexiest Male Traveler Alive 2014, and in no particular order, here are the 21 who are awarded the title.

I know we reflect each year on how quickly the 12 months flew by, but wow did this year disappear! 2013 was a phenomenal year: stressful at times, but as usual, packed full of international adventure! Mike and I kicked off the new year in Tasmania, Australia. Both unemployed having just left our jobs to make the international move to the United States, we spent January with family and friends in Tasmania, and drove Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. In February Mike and I were faked married. While we had planned the wedding of our dreams in Hawaii, allowing time should my US visa be delayed, my US visa was delayed! Original plan being to enter the United States on a fiance visa, marry, and then settle in the United States, our interview in Sydney with Immigration came back as February 19. The wedding in Hawaii was February 14! What was a girl to do?? Get married anyway! We flew to Hawaii as planned (feel free to read my rant about Hawaiian Airlines), had a spectacular ceremony with our closest family and friends on the beautiful island of Maui, and enjoyed a 5 day Hawaiian retreat before flying back to Australia for our interview with United States Immigration! We obviously charmed the immigration officials because my fiance visa was approved on the spot, and we flew back to the United States that same week. We now have a large pile of frequent flier points from all of the international travel back and forth! Our legal wedding was in a courthouse in Fort Myers, Florida, on March 27. I vote for two anniversaries meaning two sets of gifts each year! Our honeymoon consisted of a road trip through California, Arizona and Nevada, highlights including the seal and sea lion colony of La Jolla Cove in San Diego, Laguna Beach, Las Vegas, and spending a week in Arizona with relatives after finding ourselves stuck in a snowstorm near the Grand Canyon! Of course, now that we’re married we’re being bombarded with questions about when we’re having kids; click here to read our stance on that! You would be shocked and surprised at how much dust accumulates in a house after being left vacant...

Ever since I was a child I have dreamt of experiencing Halloween in the United States. Halloween doesn’t exist in Australia. Well, it does, however not quite on the same scale. So my experience of Halloween to this point has been vicariously through motion pictures. Halloween in Australia is largely viewed as an unwanted American influence – I routinely had doors slammed in my face as a child when we took to the streets begging strangers for candy; my parents might buy one small bag of chocolate each year for the 3 or 4 children who come knocking on our door. While halloween in Australia may be growing in momentum, the festivities aren’t even in the same league as those in the United States of America. I’ve never carved a pumpkin into a Jack-o-lantern, I’ve never bobbed for apples, I’ve never lighted a bonfire, and I have never been through a haunted house. You have to spend a considerable amount of time looking through Australian shops to find one which carries Halloween costumes, where-as every shop down to the grocery stores in America have entire aisles dedicated to different aspects of Halloween! So this past week I’ve been having the time of my life in the lead up to what will be my biggest day of the year. We’ve visited haunted houses, gone on haunted swamp walks, spent a month choosing kick ass costumes, and picked out our very own pumpkin from Florida’s biggest pumpkin patch! I wrote on the time off calendar at the Marriott: Megan has dreamed of Halloween in the United States her whole life. Don’t kill the dream. I genuinely would have quit before work got in the way of my first US halloween experience! I told them I am happy to work Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years – just not Halloween. Now I just have two days left to steal a child to go trick or treating with! About Megan Claire Megan is an Australian Journalist who has been travelling and blogging around the world for the last 7 years to inspire others to embark on their own worldwide adventure! Her husband Mike is an American travel photographer, and together they have made the...

Kissing in Kenya July 28 2010 So we’ll get this out of the way straight away – I made out with a giraffe…a female giraffe apparently! After checking out and managing to store our bags in the cupboard of hell that was the luggage storage room (seriously, was a very narrow room where every-one had just thrown bags in…was quite similar to a mine field, only you couldn’t actually walk through it!) we headed over to the Giraffe Sanctuary. For as little as $66 AUD per car we organised 3 taxi’s who were our personal drivers for the day! Between four of us in each car it worked out around $15 each. A 20 minute drive and a box full of pellets later we were all feeding two magnificent giraffes. On a very large platform we held out our hand full of pellets and the giraffes would lean over the railing and eat them all up! They’re tongues are so massive that they tried to take my hand with them on multiple occasions!! I had the brilliant idea after watching some British tourists to hold one of the pellets between my lips and get a kiss from the giraffe. It basically licked my whole face, and yes there is video footage! But apparently giraffe saliva is antiseptic so I’m good! In a more hilarious moment Stewart went to do the same thing but was told to get a kiss from the other giraffe as the one he was about to kiss was too young…the jokes are now circulating about hitting on minor giraffes! The Giraffe Sanctuary is part of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya, which was founded in 1979 and aims to be the leading wildlife conservation education organization for the youth in Kenya. The fund supports environmental education programs to help wildlife conservation efforts with special emphasis on endangered species and promoting sustainable environmental conservation. Our next activity for the day was a visit to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage – where we were chased by a wild warthog. After inching closer and closer and closer again to the animal to get both us and the warthog in the same picture it started revving its hind legs like a bull so we quite...
