A Guide to the Best of Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia is a booming city that is attracting more and more travelers each year. Home to well-known brands like Delta and Coca Cola, this recent rise has led to an increase in the Atlanta tourist industry.

With exciting museums, parks, and unique events, there’s so much to see and do in Atlanta on one trip, and at the end of a short stay you’ll be wondering where to live in Atlanta to make it a permanent vacation!

Here’s a quick guide to the best things to do.

The Goat Farm Art Center

The Goat Farm Art Center in Atlanta, Georgia rivals big art museums in the top cities of the world. The building is a 19th-century industrial complex, and over the years it has been used as a studio for artists and as a manufacturing space.

Today, The Goat Farm Art Center hosts events and exhibitions. You might recognize the otherworldly quality of this building from popular film and TV like Hunger Games and The Walking Dead, both of which were filmed on the property.

ATL Beltline

The Atlanta Beltline will eventually encompass 22 miles of abandoned railway beds that surround the downtown area. This area will be transformed into a gorgeous park with greenery, bike paths, and running trails.

While it’s still not completed, much of the new ATL Beltline is open to the public. This area is particularly busy with bikers and families on the weekend.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Whether you’re a science buff or a novice, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History is an exciting place with unique exhibits.

The most popular exhibit has fossil casts of most of the world’s biggest dinosaurs including the largest known dinosaur. In addition to the fossil exhibits, you can find an IMAX theater and a 65-acre woodland preserve.

Ponce City Market

The Ponce City Market is an Atlanta staple. Located in a former Sears, Roebuck & Co building, the Ponce City Market has private residences on the upper floors with unique food options on the lower floors.

There is a lot to taste and sip here with a local coffee bar, farmstand, ice cream shop, and even full restaurants. It’s also a short walk from the ATL Beltline, so it’s the perfect place to grab a pastry and some coffee before taking a morning walk in the park.

Cover Books

Located on Marietta Street, Cover Books is a bookworm’s dream.

With a collection of aesthetically great looking books that look amazing on coffee tables as well as local magazines and novels, Cover Books is a far cry from big-name bookstores.

Cover Books is one of the best loved shops in the Westside neighborhood.

Don’t worry, once you get hooked on one of their products you can shop from home!

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Atlanta poised its own unique take on big-city botanical gardens. With a rare surviving urban forest, an edible garden, and even a canopy walking experience, the Atlanta Botanical Garden is worth more than one visit.
