Wisconsin Dells has some sensational waterparks, and most of them are connected to world-class resorts and hotels, so you don’t have to travel far to reach them. In fact, there are so many waterparks here that Wisconsin Dells has becomes known as the Waterpark Capital of the World!

There are several kinds of indoor waterparks and playgrounds with their corresponding accommodations, depending on what your family is looking for.

The great thing about choosing an indoor waterpark is that they are open year round, and never affected by weather. Apart from waterparks, Wisconsin Dells has some of the most amazing resorts in all of Wisconsin you can stay at.

Two great indoor waterparks to consider are Mt. Olympus Theme Park & Water Park, and Kalahari Resort Waterpark. Mt Olympus specifically has four lands of adventure on over 200 acres. There are 44 water slides, 5 roller coasters, 7 go-kart tracks, and if it’s a sunny day, they have outdoor water slides and rides too.

If you’re looking for something outdoors, Noah’s Ark Waterpark is the largest waterparks in the country. As such, it’s a pretty big attraction in Wisconsin Dells. It sprawls over 70 acres and features two endless rivers, four children’s water play areas, and two giant wave pools.

This is a great place for kids, though it’s fun for teenagers and adults as well. There are adrenalin rides and slides you won’t find anywhere else, including RAJA: the World’s Largest King Cobra.

On this ride you race side-by-side on tubes from six stories high, along more than 335 feet of twists and turns at speeds up to 32mph, with a finale of a sudden 37-foot plunge into the mouth of a massive king cobra.

Amusement Parks and Rides

Universal Studios Japan is a stop in Kansai you shouldn’t miss.

If you’re after thrills and excitement without getting wet, Wisconsin Dells has a range of amusement parks that aren’t based around water. And even at those which do brand themselves as water parks, there are still plenty of dry rides.

Tom Foolerys Adventure Park is a great indoor option with state-of-the-art thrill rides and games. This whopping 100,000 sq ft adventure park features a challenging ropes course, climbing wall challenges, an indoor zip line, bowling, laser tag, mini golf and 250 of the very best in arcade games.

Timber Falls Adventure Park has a great miniature golf course that the whole family can enjoy, as well as a petting zoo. And other parks will include go-karts, zip lines, and escape rooms.

Animal-Related Activities

Most of us are animal lovers, one way or another, and Wisconsin Dells is a wonderful place to visit to for petting zoos, sunset horseback rides, and even a crane sanctuary.

Wisconsin Deer Park is a local treasure; a 40-acre petting zoo for all ages where you’ll find White Tail Deer, European Fallow Deer, Japanese Silka Deer and Virginia White Tail Deer as well as American Elk, American Bison, llamas, emus, lemurs and even pigs.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, Alligator Alley adventures will bring you face to face with Wild Gators, Giant Snakes and Snapping Turtles, different types of Crocodiles and even Amphibians. You can even have your photo taken holding a gator or snake.

14 minutes out of the city is the International Crane Foundation. This is the only place on earth where you can see all 15 of the world’s crane species, and you can hike through their wide range of nature trails.

If you’re interested in horseback riding, visit the Beaver Springs Horseback Riding Stable. They take you on tours of the Wisconsin Dells Wildlife Refuge, and the scenery is beautiful.

In terms of Breweries, don’t miss the Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company. Microbrews you’ll find here include Rustic Red and Relaxin Raspberry, and everything is brewed right in-house. You can take tours from 11 am – 3 pm most weekdays.

Also one not to miss is the Port Huron Brewing Company, try the Honey Blonde or Oatmeal Stout from their Engine House Tap Room, which looks directly over over the craft brewery.

When it comes to wineries, you can drive out half an hour to Wollersheim Winery which is one of the most famous in the State. Fawn Creek Winery is another great one (with free wine tastings), as is Prairie Hawk Winery and Baraboo Bluff Winery.

Distilleries wise, don’t miss Dells Distilleries for vodka, whiskey, brandy, & rum, or Wollersheim Distillery for Brandy, Absinthe, and Gin. Driftless Glen Distillery is another good one to hit, with a great range of Moonshines, Vodkas, Brandys, Gins, and Young Rye Spirits.

The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum is a great one, with 11 galleries full of jaw dropping exhibits and curiosities. There’s a vampire display in one of them, with a shrunken vampire head, as well as weird oddities like butterflies used to represent a likeness of Elvis.
