Sunday Snapshot: Hiking Above The Clouds

Hiking the final plateau to Uhuru Peak.

Hiking the final plateau to Uhuru Peak.

A lot has been written about our Mt Kilimanjaro climb, so this week our photography can speak my normal 1,000 words.

Hiking above cloud level is truly surreal. It puts all life into perspective, offering a true haven for reflection. Despite having been pushed beyond all physical and mental limits to reach the summit, the few seconds of peace and tranquility; the fleeting moment of pure clarity offered for those who reach the top, are well worth the 7 day the climb.

And the view doesn’t do too badly either!

  1. You are so right that images can replace any number of words in a blog post! This image really does say it all and kudos to you for completing that challenge – awesome achievement Meg!

    • Thanks Chris! I’ve started to see the value in placing a bit more of an emphasis on photography as opposed to my straight 1,000 words!!
