Exhausted from a huge day of adventure in the North Carolina Outer Banks, we sank into our comfortable king sized beds and quickly fell asleep to the sound of waves from the Atlantic Ocean hitting the shore.

Nothing is more soothing than the sound of the ocean before bed, and we have never before had the pleasure of staying in a hotel which is located so close to the oceanfront.

Like-wise, we have never had the pleasure of staying in a beachfront property which is so impeccably clean that not a trace of sand makes its way indoors!

Surf Side Hotel is an ideal hotel choice for visitors who are truly looking to take advantage of all that the Outer Banks has to offer.  With amenities and service which rivals the more expensive hotels in the area, Surf Side is a more affordable option for those looking for a comfortable stay on the beach.  

Incredibly spacious rooms with stunning views of the ocean were just the beginning.  Ease of (free) parking, easy access to the beach, complimentary high speed wireless access and a complimentary breakfast made the hotel experience memorable.

The room was over and above what we were expecting from an affordable oceanfront property.  A fridge and microwave included, two desks, olive oil bath products and twin rocking chairs directly overlooking the ocean.  Decorated with soft, soothing colours, and with gorgeous beach portraits adorning the walls, we felt instantly relaxed and right at home.

Easygoing and incredibly friendly, professional staff invited us to enjoy complimentary wine and snacks upon arrival.  With the sheer amount of complimentary inclusions we’re not quite sure how the hotel maintains a profit!

That being said, after just one stay you’ll be heading back to Surf Side time and time again – they’ve definitely secured our business for when we travel back to the Outer Banks!

Though on our next visit we’ll try and spend less time at the beach and more time enjoying their indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub!
