South Africa Has it All and Then Some

When you are looking at a map and ponder which place you should visit next look to the south of Africa. Down under at the very bottom you will find a place called South Africa. It is not close by, however your trip will be worth your while.

Do not be surprised by its name. It is definitely not a separate continent. It is just a country, but not like any other. Some of its history and culture would amaze you.

It is one of a kind place in the world. Besides being colorful it is a real paradise on Earth. Starting from the climate, to the political structure, the people and nature, no other country can compare to it.

  • Coast line with over 2500km
  • Moderate temperature all year round
  • Animals – lions, zebras, hyenas, hippopotami, giraffes, rhinos, leopards and etc.

National Treasures

This picturesque land is a real tourist attraction. There are so many unbelievable national parks. Some of the most famous are:

  1. Kruger National Park – Here you can take the most famous Big 5 Safari Tour. It is called the Big 5 because of the animals you will surely see. There are: elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion and rhino. Being in their presence is a life changing experience.
  1. Marekele National Park – Another interesting and adventurous place is the Game Reserve Madikwe. Starting from 1992 the game reserve had received a hypothetical face lift and became one of the most visited places in South Africa.
  1. Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park – Photographers love to come here and take award winning pictures. If you decide to visit it, you need to know about the endemic species. This is the home of the black maned lion and Namibian cheetahs.

Famous Beaches

When you get bored of watching animas you can soak up the sun on some of the whitest seashores. The sandy beaches in Cape Town are a miracle of nature. All of them are equally beautiful.

You can go surfing, sailing, water skiing and etc. There is something for everyone.

Museums and History

South Africa has a very rich history. Many of their historic memories are preserved at the museums. They are national treasures built in honor of significant individuals and many relevant events. People who left their footprint throughout time are: Oliver Tambo, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi. The list of museums is endless.

Some of the oldest artifacts in the world are found in Africa. Among them are axes, flakes and different tools. They originated over 1,000,000 ago.

The endogenous tribe Khoisan originated exactly from South Africa. They are considered the ancestors of the entire continent.

Do not be fooled by the preconceived ideas about Africa. South Africa is as modern as it can be. People who have been there strongly recommend it as a vacation destination.
