Here’s How to Plan the Perfect Honeymoon in Dubai

Go on a Desert Safari

Think of Dubai and the image of desert safari will flash in the background. You just cannot miss out on this experience. Enjoy the view of the star-lit sky, enjoying delectable dinner, belly dance performances and glass of wine along with your partner.

Honeymooning couples should try to book their stay in advance in Bedouin camps where best facilities are offered to campers. You can relish the Arabian way of life while navigating through dunes in cars, jeeps and heavy-duty SUVs.

Collect souvenirs while shopping from local markets as you round up the safari tour.

Take Adrenaline Rush to the Next Level

If adventure is what you seek to enjoy marital bliss, then Dubai is not going to disappoint you. There is a long list of sports to indulge in, like jet skiing, scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling, wind surfing and shark safari.

If you are lucky, try attending Dubai International Parachuting Championship, which is one of the world’s biggest skydiving championships hosted annually in a gala event. This adventure sport is celebrated with pomp and show, giving tourists a chance to live an ecstatic vacation.

A Hot Air Balloon Ride, Please

Having grown up watching hot air balloon rides in various cartoon series and movies, we all wish to take such a ride once in our lifetime. So why not fulfill the wish on your honeymoon?

Come to Dubai, hop on to a hot air balloon and watch the beauty of the city unfold in front of your eyes. Get a spectacular view of skyscrapers, dunes to gazelles while taking a balloon ride.

There is an option to take a sunrise or sunset ride, take your pick based on what time suits your mood. The ride will definitely be one of the most memorable ones for you as a couple.

And how about going down on your knees to propose love all over again? Sounds great right, then go for it!

Shop Like There’s No Tomorrow

Have you heard about the Dubai Shopping Festival? This is one of most awaited shopping festivals for shopaholics across the globe. Tourists flock from all part of the world to pick just about anything including gold ornaments.

Dubai houses biggest malls that showcase all the luxury brands and products including fragrances, fashion, and jewelry to small knick-knacks. In fact, it is said that one can spend an entire day just mall hopping and never get bored of it.

As a newly-wed couple, you can pick lovely gifts for one another and also buy presents for loved ones back home.

Glide Your Way Through Wild Wadi Water Park

A popular attraction in Dubai is Wild Wadi Waterpark which is located in Jumeirah Beach. One of the world’s biggest water park junctions, it is designed to keep fun lovers engaged throughout the day.

There are plenty of water rides to explore with your partner while relishing mouth-watering snacks and delicacies. Water in all the slides is lukewarm which many tourists like and therefore prefer to spend a whole day at the park.

The highlight of the park is the boat ride that takes you upstream as well as downstream. And they’re generally open until well after dark, which offers incredible night time views over the city when coming down the slides!

  1. Funny how I focused on that PDA PSA at the end of the post Meg 😉

When in neighboring Qatar, in Doha, last year, wifey and I did zero PDA stuff. Muslim countries are not keen on public displays of affection. Local culture.

But in the compound we were good to hold hands because even though we were outside of the home, 90% of folks in the compound were expats. Meaning all of us were A-OK with it and the few Qatari folks living in the compound had no issues either, seeing our micro culture.

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

    Ryan

    • Absolutely Ryan, it’s so important to respect the culture and law of the country you’re visiting, and while I think it’s important to do this first and foremost out of respect anywhere you go, there are many places like the UAE of Qatar where offence could cause you serious trouble.

Awesome that you had a mini culture going on within the expat compound in Doha though, and that the local Qatari’s were happy to embrace it 🙂

  2. I’ve been to the UAE once but can totally see why you would recommend it for a honeymoon. There is luxury and opulence there like nowhere else in the world, for sure! There are so many over-the-top experience you can have there, that it will certainly be a memorable holiday, even if you have to be a little more modest than is comfortable (honestly, I had no problem with that at all, other than being hot in my more covered up clothes!)

    • Absolutely – nothing is ever done in halves in the UAE!! And honestly, I really don’t think it’s a big sacrifice to dress a little more modestly either. The sheer opulence of everything on offer in Dubai is worth respecting their cultural norms 🙂

  3. I’m not much for sand and desert locations (tropical beach girl myself) but the more I read on Dubai the more interesting it sounds, especially the overnight desert camp. That’s definitely an adventure you can’t have elsewhere!

    • Dubai is a world unto itself – a world of absolute contrasts where you can enjoy the tropical beach vacation during the day if you want, and then go dune bashing and stay in the desert overnight.

Highly recommend it as a unique experience 🙂

  4. I have never been to Dubai, but would love to try the skydiving and the hot air balloon.

  8. Oh wow you’ve definitely made Dubai look incredibly romantic. That hot air balloon looks incredible! Not sure i’d be brave enough to do any of the adrenaline experiences but maybe the spa day might be more my thing!

    • Hot air balloon in the morning followed by a relaxing spa in the afternoon sounds like the perfect way to spend a day!

  9. All of these sound amazing, but if I could only pick one I think I’d go with the Overnight Desert Safari Camp. I think laying under the stars with your loved one would be truly romantic!

    • Absolutely – that’s definitely an experience you shouldn’t miss!

  10. Love Dubai! But this is actually the first time I read about spending a honeymoon there! Dubai is really diverse and this list proves there’s a lot to do there! Most of it are luxurious, tho!
