It feels like there are a million different secrets to finding cheap flights these days, and everyone has a different opinion. Some people will tell you to make your booking on a Tuesday, some might tell you to use an incognito window, or that you should cozy up to an air hostess for their friends and family discount!
But the one secret I’m loving at the moment are cheap flight subscriptions, where there’s a team of travel nerds who run algorithms and send you email alerts when they find crazy low prices.
I’m signed up to a number of these subscriptions, though I definitely have my favorites. And one of them is Dollar Flight Club. While many subscription services exist offering notifications on flights only out of America, Dollar Flight Club is something for everyone.
They search the web for flight deals leaving your home airport, where-ever you’re based in the world, and the deals they find usually save you around $500 on international flights.
Fly to London for $270? Dollar Flight Club Will Save You SO Much Money on Flights!
Save Around $500 on International Flights
I’ll admit to being a little bit of an organization freak. I have my email account sorted into 40+ folders, and one of them is just for emails from Dollar Flight Club; it’s nice to know I have all my cheap flight deals in one place.
In just the last week I’ve been emailed with deals for roundtrip to London for $270, Nicaragua for $400, Switzerland for $489. It’s one of those subscriptions that gives you that giddy feeling of waking up on Christmas morning.
Sleeping with my phone under my pillow (even though I’m sure I read somewhere that it’s not great habit), means I can check my emails before getting out of bed, and it’s become a morning ritual; waking up to the emails and thinking “I could totally go to London today!”.
Quite like lusting over the sales boards at the travel agent in your local shopping mall, except the emails you get from Dollar Flight Club are for flights you can actually afford (and you don’t have to deal with crowds of people at the shopping mall!).

How Dollar Flight Club Works
Head to Dollarflightclub.com and enter your email address to subscribe. Because this subscription sends you deals that are personalized, you’ll fill in details for which cities you’ve always dreamed of visiting, your preferred departure airport, and your favorite airlines.
You’ll then have the option to choose a free subscription, or upgrade to a premium membership plan ($39 a year, or $3.25 a month). When they find a really low price, they send you an alert right away so you can book before the deal expires. You book direct with the airline, or via a third party site like Momondo or Skyscanner.
Miss an email? Unlike other subscription services, Dollar Flight Club has a members area login where you can actually see all of the latest deals they’ve sent. And this is one feature which really sets it apart from the rest.
While they send you an email as soon as an airline slashes their prices (or makes an error!), the members area displays everything that’s current, and combines deals from all emails you get, with links and instructions for how to book.

Free vs Premium
Dollar Flight Club is definitely not a secret – they have over 500,000 members, and thousands on both the free and premium levels, so there’s no pressure to go either way. That said, there are definite perks and benefits to paying the $39 a year for premium.
Joining Dollar Flight Club as a free member means you’ll receive ridiculously cheap deals a 3 – 4 times a week. You get great deal alerts sent straight to your inbox, though you’re not able to specify your preferred airport unless you upgrade to Premium. The free deals they send are generally for departures from US airports.
The other difference is that free members are only sent 25% of the deals, where premium members get access to everything. For instance, the first week I was signed up, free members missed out on $352 Roundtrip to New Zealand.
Premium members on the other hand only get deals with their departure locations, so it’s very personalized and relevant to you. You’re also the first to know – mistake fares go fast, so the team sends deals to Premium members before they send them to those on free plans.
There’s a 7 day free trial on the Premium Membership, and a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you don’t save more than you spend within the first month, they’ll refund your $39.
That said, you’re not going to want your money back. Their premium newsletter is f****ing awesome!! Start 7 day free trial.
