Europe is full of stunning destinations in general. However, there are certain places that are better suited for summer or winter trips. In this post, we’re going to show you some of the hidden gems that are simply perfect for visiting in summer.

The Dalmatian Coast

The Dalmatian Coast is a stretch of beach and coastline along the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. Many of the beaches here don’t contain white sandy beaches like you may imagine on some tropical island but don’t let that deter you. Once you give the pebble beaches a try, you’ll become accustomed to them and start to see the unique charm that they give beaches along this stretch of coastline.

The water is quite warm and perfect for swimming in during summer. Perhaps the best features of this area is the history and charming buildings you’ll see in many towns and cities along this stretch of coastline.

Let’s not forget the gorgeous islands like Hvar, Pag, Korcula and many more that are easily accessed from the mainland.

Portugal

Portugal is an underrated summer travel destination but it’s starting to gradually grow in popularity, which is hardly surprising given the beautiful weather, beaches, warm ocean water, and incredible food. It’d also be remiss to not mention how cheap it is if you’re visiting from a wealthy country.

You get the beauty, weather and fun that comes with any other travel destination at a fraction of the price. There are a few great destinations in particular to visit, namely Porto and various towns in the Algarve region.

The Greek Islands

The Greek Islands have long been a popular summer travel destination and for good reason. There are plenty of islands to choose from but they offer a different mix for all kinds of people.

Generally, all of them have beautiful beaches, great food and weather. However, some are more heavily favoured for young backpackers that want to party like Corfu, Skiathos, Ios and Mykonos.

Then there are some like Santorini that are famous globally for its iconic sunset setting over it’s large cliffs and is also famous as a honeymoon destination. Either way, there is a large variety of islands to choose from and each has something a little different to appeal to each traveller.

Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline in southern Italy that’s famous for its cliff line along the Sorrentine Peninsula, idyllic coastal towns and villages, and beautiful beaches.

There is perhaps no other coastal area in Europe that can offer the diversity in terrain and towns offered on the Amalfi Coast. One minute you could find yourself lazing on a white sandy beach with crystal blue water amongst the backdrop of mountains. Next, you could be relaxing at a cafe in a multi-coloured building town like Positano, which is embedded into a mountain.

It’s also a UNESCO heritage listed area recognised for its outstanding beauty.

Each of these destinations are perfect for summer and offer you plenty of things to do. However, in your downtime you may want something to do that isn’t travel related and one of the easiest ways to unwind is by playing online casinos based in Sweden.
