It absolutely amazes me that in 2020, so many myths, stereotypes, and stigmas still exist around women traveling solo. 

And fear. There’s a LOT of fear. 

Women already book 80% of trips taken (for family vacations, for weekend getaways, for romantic trips, etc.), and in recent years, solo female travel has also been growing exponentially.

But, if it’s so popular, why are women so misrepresented in the travel industry? 

Why are women who dream of traveling solo still told “you probably shouldn’t do that”; “What will they think”; “How will your husband and kids manage without you”? Or, my personal favorite, “Shouldn’t you travel with a man?”.

Stereotypes, stigmas, fears and challenges to traveling solo as a woman still exist, among other reasons, because there’s almost zero comprehensive research on the topic and the travel industry still does not understand why women do it and what they need to feel safe.

We want to change that.
