  1. Whoa. Now this is a good idea! For long-term travellers like me, I think I’d like to try and organise a trip! Would be a great way to meet people too as I’m a solo traveller.

    • Isn’t it just! As a long term traveler who runs a blog, this would be a great way to integrate trips meeting some of your audience while being able to travel for free :)

  2. This is a very interesting concept and allows you to get to know new people from all around the world!

    • Really fabulous idea combining the free travel movement while solving the problem of finding friends for solo travelers too :)

Thanks Bernard for stopping by :)

  3. Honestly, that sounds like a great idea. If I did not have plans and a couple of things to take care I would have taken one of the $499 packages. I am still going to put something towards their crowd funding efforts though..

    • Thanks Simon! Any and all support towards their goal is appreciated :)

  4. I’ve seen a lot of crazy travel start-up ideas but this one is totally new to me! I can see what a platform like Lifekiy would be a great place for someone with, say, a blog, could organize small ‘group’ holidays to a favorite destination, do all the legwork, but get help and support in the managing of the online portion of the trip. As someone who as thought about the idea of offering guided tours but been totally overwhelmed with the idea, this seems like potentially a really interesting compromise! I’ll be excited to see how it works!

    • Totally agree with you Julie – I’d thought about running guided tours through this blog too, though I wouldn’t have a clue where to really start, so I see Lifekiy as an awesome platform which would really help outwith this.

Definitely keep an eye out for when they launch!

  5. WOW, this is amazing. Honestly, I was thinking to create a website or an app like Lifekiy . I didn’t know it exists :) great idea :)

    • Great minds must think alike! Definitely check out their Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign then – a really great project to support :)

  6. What a great idea! Free travel for a whole year!!! Actually I like the idea of creating my own itinerary and then getting people to join…

    • Love that idea too – I find the planning side of travel part of the fun, though I know a lot of people who hate it so would really love to join an already organized tour :)

  7. What an interesting concept and business model. It’s a great idea especially if you’re looking for others to travel with but the big tour companies don’t appeal.

    • Absolutely – group trips are amazing fun, though you don’t always want to join a big tour bus. I find traveling with smaller groups of people much more enjoyable, so I can see myself using Lifekiy a lot :)

  8. Another interesting concept. The more options out there to organize tailor made travel at discount prices the better. Lets just hope that other want to do what you want to do

    • I’ve started to find that there are always people out there who want to do the same things as you, the difficult part is actually finding them and connecting with each other. But with a platform like Lifekiy which lets you search by trip and matches you up based on travel preferences, there’s no problem!

  9. Wow, great idea! I know many people who mention trips like these but never know where to start, or start and get lost in the process. This makes it so much easier, and more exciting. Props to them, on the way to indiegogo to give some support!

    • Any support you can give them via Indiegogo is much appreciated Mar!

  10. Curious concept, especially for those who already do loads of travel planning for others! Interested to see how it all pans out.

    • It’s the perfect platform right! I love planning out trips, for me it’s half of the fun, almost more so than the actual trip sometimes haha. So I would absolutely take this opportunity to use my love of planning for free travel. It’s a brilliant idea!

  11. Very interesting idea. It sounds sort of like a dating app for travelers.

    • Not really a dating app, because it’s connecting you with a group of people as opposed to finding you a companion to travel with. But who’s to say you won’t find your soul mate from one of your group trips of course!

  12. This is a great idea! I love the idea of linking up other travelers in order to enjoy the same experience together. I think solo travelers will benefit from this tremendously!

    • Isn’t it just! Going to make the lives of solo travelers searching for a friend so much easier!

  13. Sounds so interesting – and a perfect way to gather a group!

    • Absolutely Jessie – jump on over to their campaign page if you’re interested :)
