Shaped to resemble the sail of a ship, the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is an iconic luxury hotel, instantly recognizable as the most luxurious hotel in the world. In fact, it’s one of the world’s very few 7 star hotels.

Located on a manmade island, linked to the mainland by a private bridge, the distinctive sail-shaped silhouette is more than just a stunning hotel, it is a symbol of modern Dubai.

With the world’s largest fleet of Rolls Royces, 24 karat gold ipods, butler service, exquisite dining, and a rooftop helipad, spending an evening here is no doubt a pricey affair, but worth every penny if you’re looking for the ultimate luxurious splurge.

So what would it cost to stay in the most luxurious hotel in the world? The most expensive suite goes for $19,000 a night. But for those wanting to experience gold-plated opulence at its finest, keep an eye out the Luxury Escapes website, as they often run deals for $3,499 for two nights. It’s your chance to stay in the world’s most luxurious hotel!!

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah Dubai Review

The most luxurious hotel in the world

Your Arrival

Your arrival at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is the start to an unforgettable experience. Your choice of transport is between the world’s largest chauffeur-driven fleets of Rolls Royce’s or by a dedicated helicopter transfer service (if you catch a package with Luxury Escapes they include private return airport transfers through Arabian Adventures).

Visitors who arrive by helicopter will experience a 7 to 10 minute birds-eye-view of the city, culminating in a dramatic landing on the hotel’s helipad on the 28th level.

It’s an unforgettable welcome, and from the moment you enter your room, and your butler asks whether you would like assistance unpacking your luggage, you realize that you’ve arrived in a place where your every request is granted, and every need anticipated.

Just imagine …

The Rooms

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is suite-only accommodation, and with 202 luxurious suites, this is a haven which offers travelers the total privacy and luxury that every vacation deserves.

The two-storey Deluxe One-Bedroom Suites feature 170sqm of truly opulent space with remote-controlled curtains opening up to spectacular views over the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf. Suites feature an iMac computer, media hub, free WiFi, widescreen TV and a master bathroom complete with a full-size Jacuzzi, rain shower and full-sized Hermès amenities.

And don’t be surprised if you’re handed a gold ipod! For the ultimate sleep experience, choose from a selection of 14 different pillows, Eiderdown duvets, exquisite Egyptian cotton linen, and an ultra-deluxe super king bed personalised to suit your specific posture preferences. The hospitality is unparalleled!

The hotel is home to the world’s largest brigade of butlers, available 24 hours, which means exceptional personal service. There is a private reception on every floor,  personalized private bars, and the option for in-room dining. Some of the higher end rooms are fitted out with libraries, snooker tables and private elevators too.

The Restaurants

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah has nine signature restaurants and bars on site, each featuring as one of the best dining experiences in the world in their own right. The spaces are all elegant, whether you’re dining in the atrium, or overlooking the skyline.

Each restaurant is unique, and you have the choice of everything from authentic Arabic cuisine, to far East Asian and Modern European dishes. As you would expect, they’ve sourced ingredients from around the globe, and have authentic fresh produce flown in.

Nightly dinners at a selection of the hotel’s restaurants are included in the packages from Luxury Escapes. Our favorite is Al Mahara by Nathan Outlaw, who serves the best seafood in Dubai. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, with a focus on artful simplicity, and a huge aquarium filled with 50 species of fish.

The Facilities

On top of 9 restaurants, the hotel also features private beach access, two swimming pools (with private cabanas), a water park that is free for guests, and luxury car hire for those wanting to take a Ferrari or Lamborghini for a spin (what better way to fit in as a local in Dubai!).

There is a fitness club with premium mixed fitness and spa facilities, and dedicated female only options, and opportunities to explore the Arabian Gulf with a private yacht charter service available exclusively to hotel guests (a spa therapist can join you onboard too!)

If you’re traveling with kids, the Sinbad’s Kids Club is located on the 18th floor of Burj Al Arab, adjacent to the Diwania Library, and is staffed at all times by professional carers. And then there’s Wild Wadi Waterpark, one of the world’s most impressive waterparks, with slides and rides guaranteed to delight both the young and the young at heart.

  1. Ohhhhhhhh i soooooo want to stay here when we go to Dubai! I need a little luxury in my life!

    • Unbelievable hotel right! Jump on the Luxury Escapes deal before they sell out – you can buy it now and book the actual hotel stay at a later date :)

  2. I have always wanted to go to Dubai, I would love to see the amazing way they have made their own islands, see how they have built these amazing hotels.

    • Can highly recommend it, we loved our time in Dubai. I love how they fuse native Arabian traditions with all some of the best luxury amenities in the world, and yes, the man made islands are pretty cool!

Hope you have the chance to visit sometime soon :)

  3. Absolutely brilliant Meg. 7 star hotel. Inspired. I recall seeing some similar wealth in neighboring Qatar earlier this year. The folks over there take things to the next level when it comes to wealth, opulence and showy-ness, as the culture demands it in many ways. Love it. Almost like if Scrooge McDuck decided to design the place. The only thing missing is the pool of dubloons. Not a bad deal for a 2 night stay either.

    • Ah yes, I haven’t made it to Qatar myself, but I’ve seen photos which depict a similar scene of extravagance.

If you ever find a place with a pool of dubloons let me know! Haha definitely takes it to the next level!!

  4. I admit it sounds quite the bargain. And, while I could be tempted to splurge, I doubt my right brain would not vehemently object.

    • It’s one of those things right, where it’s still very expensive, but a killer deal if you have the money to splurge!

  5. Sigh, if only I had some spare cash to do this :D I so want to stay here and live like a king :D

    • Amazing experience isn’t it! Yep, definitely still expensive, but amazing value for money if you have the cash to splurge!

  6. Haha, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a 7-star hotel! I find it remarkable that anything this fancy exists, but I love the fact that it does. Perhaps one day I’ll win the lottery and be able to take a yacht out from here with my very own spa therapist on board. One day…!

    • Very, very few lol! It’s crazy opulent isn’t it!! You can’t even imagine luxury on this scale normally, but if Dubai do one thing well, its extravagance!

When you win the lottery, I’ll put my hand up to come on the yacht with you!

  7. I had no idea 7-star hotels existed! God I don’t think I’ll ever sleep in this kind of hotel haha. That’s funny that they just built the hotel like the Burj Tower… Wonder if somewhere there is an Eiffel Tower hotel? Hope that one day I get a business trip there with free accommodation in this hotel haha. It does look like heaven for a couple of days!

    • There are a couple of hotels around the world which have been nominated as 7 stars – it’s a very short list though!! I would totally be up for a night in an Eiffel Tower hotel is they ever made one – what a fabulous idea! I expect if the Eiffel Tower itself set up a couple of rooms within their levels they would have quite the sought after accommodation!

  8. I had never imagined it was this exotic! Gold ipod? Like seriously? Wow!

    • Crazy right! Dubai certainly knows how to do opulent, and the Burj Al Arab is opulence at it’s best!

  9. Amazing heights of luxury in the world’s highest hotel. I’m still reeling from the opulence and grandeur. Dubai has taken reinvention to a whole new level, and this hotel is a living example of that.

    • Absolutely – this is definitely a once in a lifetime chance to stay at a fraction of the price. Highly recommend taking up the Luxury Escapes deal if you want to! :)

  10. Wow a 7 star hotel! I didn’t know that was a thing, however I am not surprised that since it is, it is located in Dubai. It looks like any stay here would be unforgettable. That is a fantastic deal they are offering too and I love that children stay, play and eat free. thanks for sharing I’ll head to the link to check it out.

    • Absolutely! It was dubbed the world’s first 7 star hotel, though there are only a very small pool of hotels with that honor. As you said, not surprised that it’s in Dubai!!

The deal on children accompanying adults for free is an incredible chance to travel as a family. If you do travel you’ll have an incredible trip!

  11. Oh, how lovely would it be to stay here just one night and experience this type of luxury! I heard they also sell the most expensive cocktails at the bar there too. That’s a fantastic deal too. I don’t think I could ever pay full price for a room here without crying for years!

    • The nice thing about the Luxury Escapes deal if that it includes meals – I’m not sure about alcohol though, that would probably be on you. I would totally purchase a cocktail to say that I’ve drunk the most expensive cocktail in the world though lol!!

And I’m totally with you – no way I would be able to afford full price on a room, so when I saw this Luxury Escapes deal I had to share with everyone else too!

  12. While reading the post, I imagined doing all these things, arriving by helicopter, chilling in the jacuzzi, going to the aquarium and it sounds like a dream! It is definitely worth a visit if you think about all the people that you would meet during a night at one of its restaurants. The most powerful people in the world! Dying to visit Dubai!

    • Definitely makes for some incredible day dreaming right!! Would be one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. Hope you have the chance to visit Dubai!

  13. I don’t have the cash for burj-al-arab :-( But how nice would be to spend a weekend there and make the most out of this hotel and all its amazing facilities . . . Book me the helicopter transfer, please! :-)

    • If you miss out this time, I can highly recommend bookmarking the Luxury Escapes website – they run amazing deals at 50%+ off the world’s most luxury hotels all the time, there might just be one for another location which is perfect for you :)

  14. I love this hotel so much that whenever there is a telecast of the documentary movie about ‘Making of Burj-al-arab’ on Nat Geo or Discovery channel, i donot miss it. It really is a fascinating hotel that everyone wants to get in. Love the blue and white colour on the outside, makes it look so elegant. WOuld love to visit this marvel someday when i have ample of money.

    • I haven’t seen that documentary actually, though I have a TV subscription for Nat Geo which includes a play back feature, so will have to check if it’s listed.

Thanks for the tip! And hope you do have the opportunity to stay one day :)

  15. This is an absolute dream of mine!! Just not sure I enjoy Dubai as much as I used to as a country..

    • Maybe the next time you head back the Burj and reignite your passion for Dubai :)
