There are many portable power stations on the market, and it’s now become an essential for when you’re camping, roadtripping, or embracing vanlife; a guaranteed, reliable source of power even when you’re off grid or traveling remote.

Since writing our original review of the Bluetti AC200P 2000 Wh, we’ve continued to keep an eye on the portable power bank space. I’m a girl who loves remote adventures, though I am equally addicted to my laptop and phone.

Electricity is not something you want to sacrifice on when traveling, and when it comes to portable power stations, this is one area where it pays to invest in the most reliable, highest capacity choice.

Despite new brands and models constantly hitting the market, the Bluetti AC200P 2000Wh is still the most reliable portable power sources. So today we’ll be expanding on my original review, to take a closer look.

Let’s Talk About Power

Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station Review

The first thing to know about the Bluetti AC200P is that you won’t easily run out of power.

This portable power station has a 2000 Watt-hour / 2000 Watt capacity, which means you can charge any device under 2000W (which is almost everything); laptops, phones, lights, drones, medical devices, and larger load devices like coffee machines, fridges, and power tools.

You can even charge a Tesla

The power capacity of the AC200P is the equivalent of putting together twenty small portable power stations that may only use a single AC outlet. In short, it’s a lot of power. But maybe what’s more important is understanding how you can put this to use.

There are two different types of power capacity you can use when using the AC200P; you can use a higher power capacity, which results in less power usage, or you can use a lower power capacity, which results in higher power usage.

Knowing the difference between the two and when to use them will mean you can make the most out of the capacity, and maximize the battery life (battery is a LiFePO4 which gives the unit over 3,500 charge cycles before the total capacity degrades to 80%, which means it has a much longer life cycle than other products).

Higher Capacity – Less Power Use

If you decide to use the faster, more power orientated features of the power station, you’ll use less power, and your power capacity will last much longer.

If you’re more accustomed to using Mili-Amp Hour (mAh) to measure power capacity, rather than Watt Hours (Wh), you’ll know that 540,540mAh is a VERY high power capacity:

2000Wh x 1000 = 2,000,000 / 3.7V = 540,540mAh

If you only need to use the power station for charging your smartphones or tablets, it’s likely that the AC200P will last your whole trip. Most smartphones have a 4,000mAh battery, meaning you’ll get one hundred or more full charges for a single smartphone.

Even splitting those full charges among two, three, or even four phones, still means that this power station can last for many days or a week of constant use.

Lower Capacity – High Power Use

Bluetti AC200P Review Power

If you’re charging higher power devices using this Bluetti power station, you’ll get less power capacity, though even when you’re using a lower power output of 14.8 V, (or 135,135mAh), it’s still higher than most other power stations, and you can do a lot with it.

With a 135,135mAh power capacity when using the DC or USB-C Power Delivery ports, you’re still able to charge laptops to full power many times before needing to recharge the station itself.

If we’re assuming that, at most, a laptop has a 7,000mAh battery capacity, this means that you can charge a laptop to full power about nineteen times. This means you can charge a laptop for more than two weeks straight without having to recharge the power station.

Even when you’re charging or powering other devices with the other ports or AC outlets, there’s still a ton of power to go around that can last for about a week. Having a “Lower Capacity” isn’t exactly a thing in this case, because you still get so much from using the power station.

Connections & Charging

Charging connections Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station Review

There are 7 ways to recharge your devices using the AC200, and the wide range of output options means you can charge 17 devices at the same time.

The diversity in charging options is one of the most valuable parts of the AC200P, and being able to use it simultaneously, in so many different ways is something that few others are capable of doing on the market.

We listed these outputs in our original review, but today we’ll dive into each in a bit more detail.

Output Options

➤ Six AC outlets

➤ Dual 15W wireless charging pads

➤ One 60W USB-C PD

➤ Four USB-A ports

➤ Two 12V/3A DC ports

➤ One 12V/10A DC car cigarette lighter port

➤ One 12V/ 25A RV port

USB-A & USB-C Power Delivery Port / Dual Wireless Charging

Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station Review Charging

The AC200P has the basics covered, with four USB-A ports and a single USB-C Power Delivery port.

There are two pairs of USB-A ports, and each pair has a 5V/3.0A power output. This is what you’ll use for charging your smartphone or tablets.

When it comes to Power Delivery, most power banks tend to use either an 18W, 30W, or 45W Power Delivery charging speed for their USB-C ports. The AC200P smashes this with a 60W charging speed, higher than what most power banks offer.

You can use a 60W Power Delivery charging speed for your smartphones, or for a USB-C PD laptop, like a MacBook Air or a Lenovo Flex 5 Laptop, and charge them both at their maximum speed.

On top of these 5 charging ports, there are also two wireless charging pads at the top of the power station, and this means you can charge two Qi wireless smartphones while using the 5 USB ports at the same time.

Most power stations don’t offer wireless charging, and any-one who travels with a lot of cords and electronics will know that charging your phone without a cable is incredible.

DC & RV Ports

There are two 12V/3.0A DC ports on the AC200P, which can be used if you have a laptop with a DC barrel charging port.

There’s then a 12V/10A DC port, which is the same type port you’ll find in your car. You’d use this for powering appliances like a portable air tire pressure pump.

The other DC port on this AC200P is the 12V/25A port, and this port has a ton of power for powering RV vehicles, and your appliances within the RV.

6 AC Outlets with a Shared 2000W Power Output

Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station Review 1

What’s probably most impressive is that the Bluetti AC200P 2000Wh power station has six AC outlets. Most other power stations on the market will only have one or two.

These 6 outlets share the massive 2000W power output, and it means you can power six appliances at the same time, like a Magic Bullet blender, a fridge, charge a laptop with a laptop charger, power a lamp, a mini fan, and a mini electric grill at the same time.

You could be in the middle of the desert, on the side of the road, or even at home during a power outage; it doesn’t matter where you are, with the ability to power all this from a portable device, it makes the AC200P the best on the market.

Each of the xic AC outlets is a three-prong plus, so you have free range of what you’re able to connect to the AC outlets.

Charging the Power Station Itself

Charging the power station itself is called input charging, and you have 5 options including from an AC or car adapter (these are the most common).

Recharging from an AC adapter is perfect for charging at home before you leave, or after you get home (takes 3.5-4 hours), and the car adapter is great for recharging while you’re on the actual road (9 hours from a car).

That said, the AC200P is also capable of solar panel recharge (takes 3.5 hours for a full recharge), and you can buy these separately if you think it’ll be more useful than an AC or car adapter.

Other ways of recharging are with a gasoline or diesel generator, or using Lead Acid batteries, which most people don’t use, but the options are there if you’d like them.

Size, Weight & Build

Bluetti AC200P Portable Power Station Review Vanlife

Size wise the AC200 is 16.5*11*15.2 inches, and weighs 57 lbs (26 kg). While heavy, it’s still portable enough to pick up and move freely around with, and the benefit of this battery is its huge capacity to power both indoor and outdoor large load devices.

After having traveled with it extensively, I recommend you pick it up first using your legs and then your back. This isn’t a small power station that you can hold for a long time, it’s portable, but it’s meant to stay in one place.

Because you won’t be moving it around a lot, it’s great to know that the build quality is of a high standard, with cover guards on all the ports, a water resistant exterior (though don’t purposely get it wet), and because it’s heavyweight, it won’t slide around loosely in a moving vehicle.

It’s not by any means a rugged power station, at the same time it can still take bumps and light falls (I mean, don’t purposely throw it at the ground, but it can hold its own).

The build also includes internal temperature controls; since the power station is capable of outputting 2000W, it has a fan on the inside to combat the heat.

If it reaches 45° Celcius (113° Fahrenheit) or has an output greater than 250W or 1000W, the fan is automatically turned on at low speed. If it reaches 50° Celcius (122° Fahrenheit) or over 1500W, the fan speed is set to high automatically.

Conclusion

Bluetti AC200P Review Station

All power stations are built to be reliable, but the Bluetti AC200P is the most reliable you’ll find on the market.

With one of the biggest power capacities and battery life of other power banks, often lasting a whole trip, and one of the most diverse output charging offers, with the ability to power 17 devices at once, you can’t beat the AC200P when it comes to portable power stations.

It beats all other power stations as the best all rounded option, and really pushes the standard of what power stations are capable of. It has everything you’d want, and more, so if you want a power station you can grow with that covers everything, the AC200P is a fantastic choice.
