Mesa Falls, Idaho.

Mesa Falls, Idaho.

Easily one of the most beautiful attractions in the State of Idaho, Mesa Falls consists of two spectacular waterfalls on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River (Eastern Idaho). Having driven from Island Park, we drove the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, and could hear the thunder of the falls before we even reached the pull off.

Rivalling even some of the most iconic waterfalls we witnessed in Iceland, Upper Mesa Falls (pictured above) completely took our breath away. A short hike from the carpark pull off, we were astounded by the sheer natural beauty of the area, and the contrast of the powerful white rapids against the backdrop of a sea of vibrant pines.

Parking was $5 per car, however we were granted access to the falls with the use of our National Parks Pass.

  2. Hi Megan,

Awesome photos. American here but I’ve done so little traveling in the States. I’ve been South, and a bit to the West, but have still yet to do anything past Ohio.

    Thanks for breathtaking imagery.

    • Thanks Ryan! I think that’s the same for everyone in terms of traveling in their own backyard! I claim I’m from Australia lol but in reality I’ve seen very little of the actual country – I always jump to first explore far off lands than explore my own!!

Definitely make the trip through Idaho if you do have the chance – during summer though when it’s beautiful and green! You’ll remember it forever!!

      Thankyou for the shares :)

  3. WOW, You really captured the beauty in this photo! Fantastic!!! Love Mesa Falls.

    • Thanks for giving us a great base to explore Idaho from! :D

  4. Beautiful pics! I just returned from a week in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho and absolutely loved it. It was my first time in the state and it’s made me want to see more.

    • I’ve heard amazing things about Coeur d’ Alene – hoping we can get up there and see that part of the State for ourselves!

  5. My wife and I have visited all of the states and western Canada. We found that our time in Idaho is the most enjoyable. Now we call it our home. We have no plans to return to our home in Florida. We love the small rural communities and the people are the best.

    • So glad you’ve taken up residence in Idaho Clay – it’s such a fantastic State. I haven’t been during winter though I’ve heard it gets quite cold :D That being said the snow is always beautiful up North, and I agree the the small rural communities really are something special.

Happy travels & enjoy exploring Idaho!!
