5 Incredible Places for a Family Activity Holiday

You may think that exotic destinations like Africa and Asia are too risky for travelling with children but many travel companies are now catering their activities to suit explorers of all ages.

So do some research before hand and take the whole family along content in the knowledge that everyone’s needs will be taken care of on your family holiday.

Namibia

Namibia is a great place to travel with a family. On a holiday in Namibia you could volunteer to assist in elephant conservation where you will get to camp in a safe environment, meet up with school children in their classes, and help assist elephants.

Namibia has some of the highest sand dunes in the world so make sure you take some time to explore them and give sand boarding a try. Take the family on a safari and experience the thrill of seeing the great Namibian wildlife, including elephants, zebras, and antelopes in their natural setting.

Nepal

If you are going on holiday to Nepal you must go trekking but if your children are small than you may be worried that they may not be able to complete the trek. Some outfits offer a Sherpa that will carry tired children so that the family can continue the trek.

There are also plenty of hands on cultural activities for children to take part in like pottery, visiting villages where they can meet and play with children their own age, and learn about life in a village. The Chitwan National Park is a great place to go on an adventure holiday.

Spain

Spain is a great adventure for people of all ages. Madrid is the capital city and you can spend your day wandering past sculptures, walking through beautiful parks and seeing the fabulous sights of this city.

Head to Barcelona for some fabulous architecture, stroll through the Picasso museum and spend the day on one of the top beaches in the world. Take the family golfing at one of the fabulous courses and be sure to sample the fabulous wine and cuisine that this country is famous for.

USA

Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA is not all about casinos and it is a great destination for people of all ages. Walk along the strip and be spell bound by the Water Show in front of the Bellagio Hotel or the Pirate Show in front of Treasure Island.

There are hundreds of stores with neat things to buy and see that are sure to interest anyone of any age. Many of the resorts offer up spectacular shows inside that are sure to please people of all ages. If you get tired of the strip you can always rent a car or join a tour and head out to visit the Grand Canyon, which is only four hours away by car.

Canada

Vancouver, BC in Canada is a beautiful destination and you will find plenty of activities to keep the whole family happy. Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain on the north shore are a great place to start.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is 140 metres long and is 70 metres above the Capilano River. This wooden bridge, the Treetops Adventure, the Cliffwalk, the cultural exhibits, and the nature trails are sure to please visitors of all ages.

Take a tram ride up Grouse Mountain and experience a panoramic view of Vancouver. In the winter there is an ice skating rink and in the warmer months you can hike through beautiful meadows.

The Vancouver Aquarium has many interactive programs for kids to take part in and it is a great experience for all ages and perfect for a family adventure holiday!
